Sheriff Reeves has been on the
lookout, and has one suspect in
the bastile. He may be allowed
to proceed on his way, however,
as there appears to be no evi
dence to hold him.

The Beaverton Amateur Ath
letic Club will hold a big boxing
match and wrestling tournament,
Saturday night, June 28. A3 the
Beaverton Club is a member of
the Pacific Northwest Amateur
Association, it is in a position to
obtain the best amateur boxers
and wrestlers in the Northwest.
The Multnomah, Columbus, But
ler, Vancouver and Beaverton
Clubs will be represented by the
championB of each, so that the
boxing fans will be able to see a
good night's sport. This is the
first Amateur Boxing Exhibition
ever held in this part of the
country by a club belonging to
the Amateur Union.

go awry. As Oregon has one
seventh of the standing timber
in the United States this should
mean a great deat for the state.
One should not forget that
Washington and Tillamook coun
ties have about tV billion feet for
the market when things get to
working properly.
When national laws are enact
ed prohibiting gambling in stocks
oa exchange there will be less
liability of panics being bred in
the big financial centers. It is
high time that Washington bus
ied itself in stopping the wolves.

Luck, of near North Plains, was
Sunday, June S, 1913. the scene
of a pretty home wedding when
their daughter. Martha L., was
united in marriage to Henry J.
Vadnais. The house was beauti
fully decorated with evergreen.
flowers and streamers, and Rev.
Luecke performed the ceremony
in the presence of a large number
of guests and relatives. Mis Ida
Luck, sister of the bride, was
bridesmaid, and Ned Hockinson,
nephew of the groom, was best
man. The wedding march was
played by Miss Esther Spillman.

The Farmington boys journey
ed to Scholls, last Sunday, and
succeeded in revenging their
team for past defeats by hitting
Whitmore's offerings freely,
many of the hits being two and
