A woman from the western
Hrtion of the county recently
was given a divorce, and one of
the grounds of complaint was
that the husband was never
home of evenings, nor on Sunday.
Since she received the decree,
however, the husband has U-en
home to see the children every
evening, remaining until nine
oVliH'k, and every Sunday sees
him at the homestead to spend
the (lav. W hile the jostling was
radical, it seemed to have the
desired etFect. and those wives
who have husbands who are
away from home evenings and
Sundays should take encourage
ment. File a divorce complaint,
and let the matter rest in court,
and perhaps the "old man" will
swnd his time at home. When
the divorced wife was told that
she and her ex-husband would
soon be wedded again she indig
nantly denied the soft impeacn

as well as hope, was experienced
by those who like to take a shot
at a Llima pheasant occasionally.
Some one discovered that the
iwnalty was not attached to the
codification, w hen it was publish
ed, and it is also not in the 1911
session laws. The law, as pass
ed by both houses, however, and
signed by the governor, provides
a fine of not less than $2T nor
more than $1.7). or not less than
five days nor more than ninety
days imprisonment, or both fine
jnnd imprisonment, and it will
not be worth w hile for anyone to
take a chance. The error in cod
ification would be but a small
foundation upon which a viola
tion could Ksibly stand. Judges
and justices of the peace would
impose the fine or imprisonment,
and an appeal would simply re
solve itself into an examination
of the statute, as it passed the
legislature-and there you would
be; stuck to the limit, with at
torney's fees for getting your
case through to the highest trib
unal. So do not take any chances
on assuming that there is no pen
alty for killing a China rooster,
no matter how the pretty "cuss"
may appeal to your gastronomic
nerve.
