R. O. STEVENSON.
County Judge of Washington Co.,
Oregon,
Democratic nominee to sue"
ceed himself, Nov. 6, 1912
Fully three hundred representa
tive citizens of Hillshoro, with
delegations frvtn Orertco. Corne
lius and ether neighboring towns,
attends the reception at the
World Keep fresh Company's fac
tory Saturday evening. The
Catherine was truly an earnest
tribute ton worthy institution.
As was stated by one jrentleman
present, "the Keepfresh Com
pany has kept faith w ith the hhv
pie of Hillslvro and has more
than nude gotxl its every prom
ise." The visitors were met at the
west entrance and escorted in
groups throughout the factorv
from the basement to the second
storv.
1 he first thing that impresses
the visitor is the factory's ex
treme cleanliness and the scien
tific, sanitary arrangements, that
have been made. Th.-n u..r..

though, as yet limited, capacity
every minute of the time since it
opened, at the beginning of the
strawberry season. L'pstairs.
one finds huge bins filUil with
"Keepfresh" strawberries, rasp
berries ami logans. Alsoipianti
ties of rhubarb, strintr-bcans,
peas, cherries and other iinnlni't s
which have been treated by this
remarkable system of food pres
ervation. Passing into the de
aqueating room one finds the big
machine loaded to the limit with
delicate fruits and berries, which
products largely would le lost
were it not for this factory.
men me guests visited the great
concrete basement where the
heat-generators and large boiler
are installed. Finally each itoiii
of visitors were escorted to a
great square table, loaded with
products in both their "keep

ed ready-to-be-eaten states. This
was the climax of all the delight
ful thirurs shown, and as fh
crowds gathered around to view.
and to partake of the large varie
ty or these splendid fruits and
vegetables, universal exclama
tions of a satisfied surprise were
heard from everybody. With all
that heretofore has been written
and said of the Keenfresh sv.

the goods are always fresh fnods.
minus only the water and that
they continue to retain every c e-
ment of fruits and vegetables
just from the tree, garden or
vine, yet such is unuitestionahlv
the case.
After the tour of insertion
the visitors were seated in the
large east end building which
was filled comfortably. Chair
man K. I. Kuratli tin
duced the various speakers, May
or H. T. Hagley, Hon. Arthur
Iangguth, of Portland, the Com
pany's secretary. Foreman C. F.
(jrabel and Geo. K. lingers.
Fach spokeof matters pertaining
to tne company, the system un
e'er which it operates and the
tremendous influence for good it
is Itound to be to Washington
Muniy. .Mayor Hagley sum
marized it all when he said that
he was confident our people had
no conception of the m.nrnitiiilo
of the proposition that had come
into our community, and exhort
ed everyone to resolve his or her
self into a Keepfresh committee
of one. He stated that he had
originally bought stock in the
company to help establish the
factory, but that he had recent
ly come to a realization of th
fact that the Keepfresh proposi
tion was of tremendous imjHirt
not only to Jiillsboro but to the
whole world. Three hundred in
formation seekers went into the
Keepfresh factory Saturday eve
ning, three hundred enthusias
tic boosters came out.
A similar meeting will be held
at Cornelius next Thursday eve
ning.
