North Plains for many years,

inquiries, lately, about this sec

may know conditions down here.

Lebanon is 93 miles south of
Portland; has a sea level of 336
feet which is about 130 ft
higher than Hillsboro; the San
tiam flows just east of town,
which has a DODulation of from
2,000 to 2.500. The S. P. runs
through here, and rural tele
phones reach nearly all the homes
in the county. Lebanon has 4
rural mail routes; a high school,
a eraded school, an AraHwmv fi
churches; paper mill, employing
70 men; sash and door factory;
electric light and water plant,
city hall, 3 warehouses; 2 banks,
3 drug stores, 7 general stores;
3 feed stores: eood hotel. 3 res
taurants, 3 blacksmith shops, 3
livery and feed stables; 2 cream-
erv stations, larce sawmill
