John Miller, a Hon-in-law of
Mrs. Susan I'.rown, now residing
in Portland, wax on the jury that
convicted Mrs. Kersh of man
slaughter, in the Multnomah cir
cuit court, the other day. Mr.
Miller was foreman of the laxly.
Webb, her accomplice in the
murder, has Item convicted and
w ill hang. Webb killed an old
miner in a Portland hotel, and
he and Mrs. Kersh were spend
ing the money taken from the
victim.
The annual mask ball will be
given at Hillsboro Hull on the
evening of Saturday, Dec. HI.

W.Booth, died at her home, 11th
and Oak Streets, Hillsboro, Dec-

strong and since her husband's
death, September 30, 1903, has
been gradually failing. Her hus
band, W. W. Booth, was a har
ness maker, and in 1905 conduct
ed a harness shop where the

Brugger robbed his victim and

up by the sheiff next day and
later convicted and sentenced
for life. The funeral of Mrs.

A pleasant Christmas Eve par
ty was assembled at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Walters, of
Glencoe. A Christmas tree was
beautifully decorated and loaded
with presents, and a program of
songs, music and Yuletide stories
was a feature of the evening.

Herman Bishup, the Mountain-
dale sawmill man, was in town
today, and says that the family
has not heard a word as to the
whereabouts of Jos. Bishup, who
has been missing since early in
the Fall. Young Bishup's money
still lays in a Portland bank, and
he has considerable real property
about the Portland suburbs. His
father, who lives at Helvetia,
and his brothers, all think that
the young man is dead.
