OCTOBER DAYS
Yon may glorify ol Summer
uh itt sunshine an' its haze
Wi'.en the people all are hikin'
Where the coast breeze alius p'.ays
But yive oie pcxxl October,
With its Injun Summer un
Am) its forests red an y alter.
An' crimson, green, an' dun
October ith its punkin pies,
An' with its applrs reil
Altho the year is dyin'
B'Gosh. it aint quite dead!
An' if I had to choose between
The Summer or the Fall,
I'd kin.ler lean to apple time
By Heck! It beats 'em all.
It may be 'cause I'm gettin' o'd,
An' passed beyond my prime.
That there's a sort of s)mpathy
T ixt me an' Autumn time
But of all the seasons natur' gives,
After si', is done an' said,
I'd 4i k the Iujun Summer days
W'aea ail the woods is red!
