The Hillsboro small boy has
been disporting in the waters
every afternoon since the warm
wave. They have been stopped
from entering on the Connell
farm, west of town, because they
became careless aUmt leaving
gates open. The "big bend."
south of town, and bolosv the
slaughter house, near the long
bridge, west, are the favorite
places. The best stage of water
is really at the big bend, where
the swimming was good twenty

us were but boys.

Sunday was the record breaker
so far this year in the heat mark
ing. In many places around this
section it was 100 in the shade,
and some thermometers register
ed even more than this. There
were no prostrations from heat,
however, and while it was "toll
able Hot," as the Missourian
would say, people felt it much
less than the same heat in the
East.

Anna Muzik, of Portland, has
sued Rudolph Muzik, for divorce,
the result of much discord in the
Muzik home. Whether there
was a false note; a lost
chord; a medley, or what their
particular trouble is not known
along musical lines, but she says
he does not support her and that
he drinks too much.
Claude Hollinger, aged about
24 years, and who is deaf and
dumb, was arrested the last of
the week and gave bail to appear
and answer the charge of steal
ing a filly from George Susbauer.
Young Hollinger worked over at
Newberg, and took the filly over
mere, where he traded for a
horse of his own." j
