man and shortstop had their sig
nals crossed and neither was

when Brown stole second. The
ball passed second base and went
clear into the field. Brown kept
on running and made home easily

down well. There were one
thousand paid admissions, and,

Woman's League. Miss Everitt
conveys her impressions in the
following letter to the Argus:
Dear Kdilor:
I wish to tell the readers of your
valued paper something about the good
things I taw and enjoyed while at Uni
versity City, 8t. Louis, Midsoori, whith
er I was sent as a delegate, from Grace
Chapter, Hilisboro, to the First National
Convention cf the American Woman's
League.
There were about eight thousand
women in attendance, besides a number
of rue ti. We spent the first day in view
ing the spacious grounds, magniflcient
buildiugs aud their contents, not the
least interesting of which was the Wo
man's National Daily building, whirl) is
of Hgyptian style of architecture, built of
while marble, dimensions 300 feet long
by S5 by bo, entirely lighted from the
top. It contains the largest printing
press in the world. The beautiful execu
tive builditig is of cut stone and terra
coita. In the rear of this and adjoining
it is the publishing plant, an absolutely
