Mr. and Mrs. Fred Corrieri, and
who sang a solo, "Suppose a
Little Cowslip." at the Crescent
Theatre, at the Decoration Day
exercises.
Little Miss Corrieri is but 8
years of age, and surprised her
auditors with her excellence of
voice. She has been attending
school in this city the past term.
When she finished her song she
received a hearty applause and
was presented with a splendid
bouquet. She was a student in
Miss Loxley s room, and Mrs. J.
L Thorp accompanied her song
as pianiste.
I-RKDIZRICH SCHOUN
Frederieh Schoen, aged 73 years,
and born in Germany, died at the
family home in Cornelius, sun-
day morning, June 19, 1910,
Mrs. Schoen had prepared break
fast and called to the husband
W hen she received no response
he went to his room and found
that he had passed away. The
husband had made no attempt to
all anyone during the night, and
the end evidently was very peace
ful, as death must have arrived
while he was sleeping. The
widow and three children survive,
one of whom is V. W. Schoen, of
south of Cornelius; two are
daughters, I'ertha and Lydia,
both married.
Mr. Schoen first settled in
Minnesota, where he was natur
alized, in the seventies. Later,
coming to Oregon, he settled near
Cornelius, and afterward took up
his residence in town. He was
highly respected and at one time
was elected mayor of Cornelius.
