1910. at a Portland hospital after
a lengthy illness in w hich sh
was a treat sufferer.. She was
married to J. A. Lynn, at Pueblo.
Col.. Nov. 7. 1SSS, and they re
sided therv until 1SIM. when ttVv
removed to Oregon, settliHjc in
the Arcade district, above Gloa-
coo. Her husband died on July
3. 1904. and the familv has lived
at the home place ever since.
She was not verv strong and the
burden of keeping the home and
family together, fell on her to
the breaking down of her health.
She was the mother of five chil
dren, four of whom live: Walter
A., Albert K.. Laura atd Ray
mond 0. Lynn. Mrs, Lynn was
a woman of sterling character
istics and in her death the chil
dren lose the counsel of a loving
mother, and th community an
excellent neighbor. She was a
charter member of ashington
Grange, Patrons of Husbandry,
J13 in which she was an earnest
and enthusiastic worker.
The funeral was held at the
Arcade school house and inter
ment was in the Arcade cemetery,
now (.tiiy Mover, of Hillsboro
officiating.

Mabton, Wash., in the heart of
the irrigatai fruit district of the
Yakima valley, was in town
Monday, accompanied by his
wife. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart
were guesti of the day at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. L. A.
Rood. Jesse wys that he sees
wonderful improvement here
since his last visit to the old home,
a few years ago, after he had
returned from Alaska. They
came down to visit the Lose
Festival, and while in the valley
concluded to not overlook Mr.
Stewart's boyhood home.
Jos. Beal, formerly of Golden
dale, and who is an early county
pioneer, was in the city the first
of the week, a guest at the home
of William Tupper. He has been
spending a few months with his
brother, Geo. Beal, of near Gas
ton, and says he expects to make
the valley his home hereafter.
Mrs. Kate Tucker, formerly
Miss Rose, and who has been re
siding at Los Angeles, is the
gue3t of her sister, Mrs. K. C.
Brown. Mr. Tucker has sold his
property at .Los Angeles, and
they expect to make their future
home in Portland.
Thos. Withycombe, of Port
land, and still interested in a
farm down near Farmington,
was out to the city Monday.
Mr. Withycombe is busy hand
ling real estate but occasionally
finds time for articles to the
press with his facile pen.
Gottfried Schlaefli, of alxive
Mountaindale, was in town Mon
day. He says that Ulrich Bart
schi, enroute for Switzerland,
wrote back from New York that
he made the continental trip
without any mishap.
Wm, Batchelder, of near Glen-
coe, was in the first of the week
and says that the rain of the last
of the last of the week came in
time to make thousands of dollars
for his section.
Ed Cornells, a son of the late
Jesse Cornelius, one of Washing
ton County s early pioneers, was
out from Portland the first of
the week. He is now convales
cing from a severe illness.
