will depend largely on
the Eastern bond market, which

The Reedville Base Ball team
went over to Cooper Mountain
and defeated the locals on their
own grounds last Sunday to the
tune of 17 to G. The feature of
the game was the nitchintr of
Rollins and Coryell. The Reed

A Miss Phillips, of near the
Oak Grove Farm, was thrown
out of a buggy, Sunday, and re
ceived some ugly wire cuts from
the fence. She also suffered a
fracture, which was reduced by

in the vehicle with her when the
runaway took place.
The helper engine, on the
Sheridan local, while coming up
the Portland mountain, last
night, just as it was at the end
of the big trestle, jumped the
track. . The head engineer
brought the train to a standstill,
and no damage was done except
to belate the passengers.
Concrete is now being placed
in the foundation of the Hotel
Tamiesie, Third and Main. When
this structure is up it will add
greatly to the appearance of the
city and it will be the neatest
hotel building to the West of
Portland.
Prof. Magann will lead the first
