In the death of Riley Cave,
Hillsboro loses a citizen who was
always foremost in puMic enter
prise. He was not an apostle of
silence and always favored the
community putting its best fxt
forward. The groat livestock
parados of the past, w hen Wltsh
ington County eclipsed the state
in the production and display of
fine stock, were largely due to
his untiring efforts. Mr. Cave
was a worthy citizen in every
resjKvt, and lie intimately knew
the needs of the section. His
many years of residence in Hills
boro and his business relations
w ith thousands of people through
all the years of active life leave
n reciTJ save that w hich was
good from every standpoint.
Peace to his ashes -and "if his
name does not lead all the rest
it w ill at least be well to the toj
of the page.

Oregon is now the landscape
of beauty. Now here in the world
is a more pleasing vista to the
eye not even in the tropics,
w here the Summer sun too much
withers rather than stimulates.
Ihe mass of bloom that greets
the lover of the beautiful; the
cool nights that rejuvenate the
rose: me neaitntul morning air;
and the green fields of the hus-
bandmen-and the best people in
the w orld -all go to make Ore
gon a Paradise for those who
love nature at its best.
