An old prospector,' grizzled by
years in the mountains, passed
through with all his earthly be
longings on a diminutive burro,
Tuesday, en route to the Coast
Range, where he expects to find
gold. He was led there by the
story of a ledge supposed to have
been found many years ago, in
the mountains, south from the
crossing of the Wilson River road
to Tillamook. The old fellow
says that the "break" of the
mountain range is right to con
tain rich metal and he is going
to see if there is any gold there.
His name was John Frisbie and
he mined for many yeara in the
Idaho section, two or three times
pulling out big stakes.
