The drum corps of Portland was at the meeting and furnished mar tial music throughout. The old boys and the Woman's auxilary had a splendid day, and the pro gram w a all that could be w ish ed. Cornelius furnished a boun tiful spread for the visitors, and their entertainment was charac teristic of the way that Corneli us always does things. County Surveyor A. A. Morrill is having the field notes of the United States surveys for Wash ington County written up for his office records, and it will take several weeks to complete the work. Miss Grace Deichman is transcribing them at the general land office in Portland. They w ill then be placed on the lx:ok records of the office herein Hills horo. As the matter now stands there is no record of any survey here since 1876, and as the gov ernment corners afford the start ing place for many surveys the notes are very essential. A. A. Asbahr, attending 0. A. C. at Corvallis, is one of the negative speakers at the meeting between O. A.
