in response to a summons an
nouncing the mortal illness of
her father.

named as "dean-up day" by the
fitv council, and the old town
will follow the date set by the
State Woman's Clubs in this re
gard. A few hours of work w ill
make a great ditTervnce in the
apivaranee ot Hillsboro, and the
city has agreed to furnish teams
for hauling away rubbish and
debris that may 1k gathered and
piled at the edge of the streets.

Club requested the city fathers
to take the matter up with the
citizens, and the order has gone
out that all shall take a few
hours off and get readv for a
general toilet of the citv's back
