W. Haines and his protosition to strinR wires to this city and install an electric lijrht and power service. Mr. ! Haines said he was in no hurry , to force t lie matter, and stated i he was perfectly willing that the 'council should take all the time ,it wanted before granting the I franchise. The matter will ! therefore be taken up by the ! council at its June meeting. Mr. Haines said he would install a day service for lights and power in the city if the franchise were granted, no matter what the pat ronage might be. He intends to run his wires to the brickyard hevond Oak Park, and says ne has two large dynamos, in ease one should go to the bad. Air. Lytic, interested in the local power plant, said he would just as soon the council would act that same evening, one way or the other, so he would know where he was at. The matter, however, was laid over. The council expressed itself as to a sane Fourth of July espec ially in the business district, and asked the city attorney to see if an ordinance covered this section of this city, and if not to pre pare one. It was ordered that $G00 be transferred from the general fund to the water and light fund that some outstanding warrants under that head might be paid oil".
