Dr. Linklater was summoned to
attend the sufferer. He found
the patient much better than
would have been expected for a
man over whom a loaded wagon

off. While there are some seri
ous internal injuries, the physi
cian minus he will recover.
The house on the Tongue
ranch, south of the river, burned
last Thursday afternoon, and Mr.
and Mrs. A. Soiesschaert.. who
reside on the place, saved their
clothes, some bedding, a sewing
machine, and some of the cook
ing utensils and the range. The

flue, and the house loss was fmm
I $800 to $1,000. Mr. Spiesschaert
lost a lot of their furniture, their
silverware, and last, but not
least, about $150 worth of
smoked hams and shoulders.
Hon. Hubert Bernards, of
Yamhill and Washington coun
ties, with headquarters at Mc
Minnville, was in town Tuesday,
congratulating the city on the
proposed new hotel. Hubert
says he is coming down to stay
all night when the new hostelry
is opened and expects to dine a
few of his bosom friends. Hu
bert says he is glad to see the
town progressing so finely.

rison; and Arne E. Willis and
Echo M. Hollenbeck have been
granted licenses to wed.
Ira Smock and Clara Yates, of
the Sherwood section, were
granted license to wed, Tuesday.
