County Veteran Association and
their Auxiliary, at Cornelius, to
take place on the 5th of May.

desire to please a discriminating
audience. There will he vocal
music and recitals rendered by
the best artists in the Northwest.
The speakers have been selected
from a lone list of Portland's
best orators. Drums and tifes
have boon selected from the De
partment Drum Corps, which
will fill the old town with Army

Dr. Butler, physician and sur
geon with the Sweeney con
struction camps, at the front, on
the Tillamook line, was brought
to the Hillsboro Sanitarium,
Tuesday evening, suffering from
a severe attack of nneumnnia.
lie was brought in on a special
train, and was accompanied by
Dr. Buckley, the head surgeon.
The home of Mr. and Mrs. (Jus
Roth, of Seghers. was burned in
the niirht. Mondav. and the in
mates barely escaped with their
night clothes. All the contents
were lost. There was some in
surance, but as the policies burn
ed with the house, Mr. Roth
does not know just how much he
will get. Mr. Roth is postmas
ter at Seghers, which is more
properly known as Gales Spur.
Anloine Lebard, formerly of
near Kiulon, and now residing
in Portland, was in town yester
day. While in the city, he called
on the religious weekly, which
he has read for years, and then
helped swell the rest room col
lections. N. A. Frost, the census enum
erator for South Hillsboro, has
about concluded the enumeration
in the city limits, and will start
for the country the last of the
week. The North portion of the
city has been concluded by C. E.
Deichman. If any have been
missed they should notify N. II.
