STEEL SPAN BRIDGE
County Court Asks for Bids on
Structure Across Tualatin

The county court this week is
advertising for the construction
of a bridge across the Tualatin
River, one mile south of Corne
lius. The call asks for an esti
mate both on wood span and
steel span, and if the difference
on cost is not too much the steel
structure will be preferred. In
the lonii' run. steel spans are the
thing; - for they do not have to
be renewed like the wooden
structures.
There will be a GOO foot fill
leading to the span, on the south
sidr of the river. Contractors
nuit put lip a certified check for
5 per cent of the amounts of
their bids.
Separate bids will be consider
ed for the span and earthwork.
COUNTY COURT
The county court had a short
session yesterday. The roads as
pr petitions of J. A. Johnson,
near Beaverton; Henry T. John
son, of Glencoe; and E. Wen
strom, of Scholls, were ordered
established. Justice of the
Peace G. VV. Barnes was allowed
his bill on transcript and the in
quest on Jacob Am was allowed.
