Instead of complying, Hamlin dashed for the door, but HelMecker fired twice bringing down his man with a shot In the groin. The next day tha wounded prisoner waa tuken to Hillsboro, and again on October M he attempted u third Jail bleak, but this was frustiated. A short time before ho was visited by his wife, and when searched after the at tempt, 20 in curnncy was found on his person, as well as some skeleton keys.
