John Rigby, of near Reedville,
accidentally got one of his feet
under a wheel of a moving water
wagon, Saturday, with the result
that the foot was badly crushed.
One of the toes was so badly hurt
that it had to be amputated by
Dr. Tamil sie, the attending phy
sician. The Uilleboro Prune dryer will
be operawd this season, at the cor
ner of 4;b and Jackson streets.

Mrs. Stephen Morgan, of Forest
Grove, ag d 53 years, died at a
Portland sanitarium yesterday, of
blood p. iaoning. She came to the
Grove from Nebta-ka aboat five
years ago, and is survived by Mr.
Morgan, two sons, one living in Ne
braska, the other in Portiand, and
two daughters, Mies Emma Steph
ens and Mrs. Lowell Markee, of
Forest Grove.

in humond Cornelius real eetate

section. They were raised on Mr
Reasoner's farm, near town.
The Hillsboro Shire Co. sustain
ed a severe lose last night, in the
loss of their fine $3500 English
Bhire, Tansor Prince. The big
etallioo died at Fred Hamel'e
place, near town, after a short at
tack of oolic. The animal was pur
chased last Spring, and was a fine
specimen of the breed Only $ 1000
iosurance was carried on the ani
rnl, and the loss will be divided
between several stockholders, who
live in this county.
Richard Kuliecb, a young man
of Portland, btcame deranged and
violent, one day this week, and
threw a soda bottle through a win
dow of Smith t Kulisch s Btore,
mrth of Keedville. He was taken
to Portland by a brother. It is not
known what caused the young man
to become mentally unbalanced.
C. E. Hurst, who lives on the B
P. Cornelius place, above Moun
ttindale, had a $250 horse acci
dentally shot, about a month ago,
by hunters, the horse is under
th;) care of a Forest Grove veteri
nirian, and it will be several
months before it is able to work.
There is too much carelessness in
bunting.
Frank Williams and wife, John
Sewell, wifu and daughter, and
Miss Lucy Weatherred, the latter a
gueBt of the Bewells, returned borne

mook beaches, last Sunday. Mr.

owners, who ask all the way from
$100 to $200 an acre. Tbey say

are making good money, hence bold
