us on June .10, and continued over
the Fourth of July. Oak Grove,
the scene of the camp, was lighted
with electricity, and camping fa
cilities were quite eatiefactory to
the old "vete," who thoroughly en
joyed themselves during tbe entire
time. Martial music stirred the
blood of tbe nation's defenders, and
many veteran visitors were present
to enliven camp fire scenes. The
exercises on German day were high
ly appreciated by til. patriotic
sonars being rendered in both Ger
man and English. The address by
Hev. J. F. Doescher wsb replete
with patriotism. Hilisboro day
brought a large attendance. The
programme rendered by the Hills
boro school children waa high!
complimented. The programme is
given elsewhere. Rev. Blake de
livered tbe oration of tbe Fourth,!
in .bis usual splendid style. The
final, game of baseball was won by
the Forest Grove Colle, over the
Verboort boys. All in all, the en
campment was a great success, and
reflects much credit on the Wash
