LOOKING OVER THE ROUTE
Chief Engineer Donald of tbe Ore
gon Electric Line, and a party of
four directors of the road, came to
Hillsboro yesterday morning, end
securing a livery ng drove along
tbe line of tbe survey from Hills
boro to Garden Home, a place four
miles southeast of Beaverton, on tbe
line of the Portland & Salem road,
where they took the electric train
to Portland. The parties were not
in town but a few moments, and
tbe fact tbat they drove over the
route selected by the Company for
its road between Hillsboro and
Garden Home, where connection
will be made with main line, indi
cates tbat the Company will soon
begin active building operations.
The visitors gave out no informa'
tion as to the object of their cross
country trip, but that tbey were in

Two suits for divorce were filed

son. Tbe couple were married in

children. Plaintiff states that de
fendant has treated her in a cruel
and inhuman manner, rendering

Christian Rocke, of Nebraska
has purchased the furniture and
fixtures in the Bigelow Hotel, and
has leased the building from tbe
owners for a year. Mr. Rocke is
