The woman was standing in the hallway, and when Mr. Mays ca tered, ehe ran upstairs and attempt ed to hide in the bathroom. Mr. Mays and Mr. Wright, a lodger. brought her out and turned her over to the marshal. On the street she was joined by a boy, supposed to be her eon, who was also arrest ed, as an accomplice. They were taken to the county jail, but as there was no evidence against them, they were today released. It was supposed that tbey were look ing for rooms, but they had en gaged rooms at the Tualatin Hotel, on tne night of the arrest, which they left at 11 o'clock, without ex planation. They were peddling bead work. A suspicious circum stance was the finding of two skel eton keys in their possession. There were no papers on his body wnen found, and the only marks of identification were a scar above the left eye, and a wart on the left eyelid.
