Camt tt Oreiioo LattW From State af Uicbigti On Tuesday, of this week, Boran -ambert, a logger, working for the Baaeline Lumber Company, of Cor nelius, slipped from a log into the icy waters of Gales Creek, and was drowned. Up to this time, his body has not been recovered, al though diligent search is being made for same. Borne time pre vious to his death, Lambert slipped into the creek and narrowly es caped death. It is said that he then announced his intention of quitting the hazardous work, but eventually went back to it, which ended in bis death. A number of men were engaced in rafting logs down Gales Creek, when Lambert met bis fate. Efforts were made to rescue him by companions, but tbe man seemed dazed, and sank, ap parently making little effort to save himself. Lambert bad no relatives u Oregon, and began work for tbe company about ten days before hie death. He was aged about 35 years, and it is said he came to this state from Michigan.
