Gibson, president of the Gibson Manufacturing Company, of Portland, is in the city, looking over the field as a possible location for a factory. If satisfied with the place, at the conclusion of his in vestigations, he may have a propo sition to make to the city. H Gittings, of Port land, was killed in a pistol duel at Albina, yeeterday evening. Git tings bad been called to arrest MellvilleG Bradley, of the latter place, for beating his wife, when Bradley shot the policeman and made bia escape. Bradley ia a blackemitb, and worked in the car ihops. Of late, he bad been jeal ous of Gittings, and the murder Was a culmination of the matter. This tragedy calls to mind a drama io which Bradley and his wife played last July ia Washington county. Mrs. Kate Bradley and a man named VY. T. Anderson ran a res taurant at tho Grove, for a while laat summer, where they paeeed a? mam and wife. Bradley, the wo man'a husband, met Anderson on the train between Portland and the Grove, and engaged in a fight with him. Bradley then stopped off at Hilleboro, and a wore out a warrant for the arreet of the twain. When Deputy Sheriff Kane arrived at the Grove, he found that Anderson and the Bradley woman had taken a livery team and gone.
