Peter Grinecki, who lives four or five miles north of Buxton, and who is clearing up a mountain home, was in town Monday, and had business with the assessor. Dan Emerick returned from a visit to bis brother, John, at Ar lington, Monday. He and Billy McCourU killed a nice bag of geeee, while gone. They report that the geeee are getting mighty gun eby in that section. Nearly all the oats in South Tualatin have been sold this Kail. One of the Burkhalters cold 5: tons; Wm. Schulmerich, 10O tons, and Henry Hogrefe, 75 tons. The grain brought $30 per ton, f. o. b., at Hilleboro. A 12-year-old son of Robert Simpson, of Buxton, while playing with some companions, last Satur day, fell from the top of a fence. and sustained a peculiar break of the right arm. Prs. Linklater and Killingsworth reduced the fracture. Tom Cornelius, of Salem, was in the city Monday, with a bunch of haetern Oregon horses. He left Monday evening for Salem. He has been in the buochgrasa coun try for more than a month, largely for the benefit of his health. G. A. May. wife and child, of near Mist, were in town Monday. S Erwin who was quite badly burned on the head and fact last week, by falling into some hot ashes, is improving, and Dr. A. B. While chopping wood with an other man, near Mountaindale, laBt Saturday, Henry Cypher asked his tompanion to throw him an axe The man tossed the axe in Cypher's direction, but in transit, it struck a twig, which diverted the aim, with the result that the keen blade struck Cypher's right knee, cutting an ugiy gash thereon. Dr. Linkla Ur was called and attended the wound. Cypher will be laid up for some time. D. 0. Quick, who lives in Ben ton county, this state, was in town this week. He is visiting with his son, Emmett, at Buxton, and is at tending his son, Will, who is just recovering from what threatened to be an attack of typhoid fever. Mr. Quick was one of the pioneer sawmill men of this county, and for many years engaged in the milling business at Mountaindale. He baa not lived in this county for more than twenty years, and nat urally notes some changes. G. W. Morgan, of Vineland, met with an accident, near Hillsboro Monday morning, while driving out of town toward his home. A bunchgrass horse, which he was driving, Bhied at some object along the road, and swerved quickly to one side, throwing the occupant of the buggy out upon his head and shoulders, and inflicting some pain ful injuries, which rendered him unconscious. He was found lying in the road in that condition, by persons who summoned medical assistance, and took care of bim. The team ran away, broke the tongue of the buggy, and one of berses emerged irom the mix-up with a broken leg.
