session of the legislature, if a

per cent, of the county and state
funds apportioned during the year,
all of the H"t per cent, not used for
teaching, reverts back to the gen
eral school fund, at the close of the
year. At the close of the last
school year, to wit: On June 17,
PJ07, there waB forfeited to the
school fund of this county, the sum
of 1,000. The largest sum for
feited by any one district in the
county, was $211) 8S. Thia will
explain to school clerks why many
of them do not get the full amount
of money apportioned to them, be
the County Superintendent is au
thorized by the new law to deduct
the amount forfeited by the dis
trict from the amount apportioned,
before he issues the warrant.
