The Washington County Veter
an's Association held their annual
meeting in Odd Fellows' Hall to
day. There were quite a number
of the' old boys" present with their
wives and families, and at noon
they "fell in" and eat down to a
splendid dinner, prepared by the
ladies of the Association, to which
the veterans did ample justice.
The forenoon was spent in routine
business of the Association, and the
afternoon session is in progress as

of Hillrhoro, was io town yester
day. He is one of numerous Wash
ington county pioneers who have
fine farms out of the mountain
timber tracts, within the past 30
years. Mr, Miller this year raised
14,-VX) pounds of Italian prunes,
which be has just contracted for

near Columbia City, last December,

state reform school until be iB 21

The commission of doctors who ex
amined him, say he is liable to kill
whenever overtaken with his mur
derous mania. Tbe agreement to
send him to the reform school, was
reached after it became evident
that a jury would not vote to hang
a fourteen year old boy.
