I Peter G. Martin, who came to
; Oregon in 1859, after being in Cal
, ifornia for several years, died in

years. Deceased was a native of
; Ireland, and came to America when
he was but 12 years of age. For
twenty years Martin lived at Sber-
rv wood, and be was a member of the

survive the veteran policeman:

Mr. Ferguson was in the Civil War
with T S. Crosier, of Iowa, now
here visiting with County Treasurer
Jackson. A peculiar coincidence
is the fact that a year ago the two
talked oi visiting in ths west.
