Tim took it good natnredly and went

most two months when a crisis hap
pened. There waa an accident four

to be off to a dance with a crowd of

happen, but he was held to be crimi
nally guilty and told to prepare for de

showing a committee of tbe legislature

cial had twenty minutes to wait that
the run east might be clear, and the

plied that it would be no loss to him,
ana a few hot words passed.
As It happened, Tim had received his
pay tbe day before and was free to go
wnere he would. What he did wa to
cross the tracks and take a seat on a
pile of ties and wonder whether he

of fifteen miles, side track for seven or
