Speaking of progressive little towns Cornelias is just now lead ing anything in the shape of a city on the West Side with a popula tion anywhere near its numbers. The business buildings are all neat ly painted, the streets are kept cleanly, and there is a general air of prosperity everywhere. It is surprising how much a little paint will lend to the appearance ot a small place or a bis place, for that matter. Its new buildings are all occupied, and Cornelius promises to be a formidable rival of Hilleboro and Forest Grove. C. K. Henry, of South Hillsboro, is putting in a fine private water system on his Fair Acres property. The system will consist of three wells, which will be operated by a gasoline engine and a dynamo.
