John Keffer, aged 55 years, died
at Portland, yesterday, at 2:00 p.
m., after an illness dating several
months. Keffer was horn in Jack
son County, Missouri, and came to
Oregon with his father, V. W. Kef
fer, who settled on W' a pa to Lake,
and who now resides at LaFayette,
aged 82 years. Deceased leaves
one daughter. For many yeara he
has played the violin in and around
Port laud, and, years ago, furnished
music for Washington
