into prominence ag a master hand
at this 'line of work when he as
sumed the presidency of the Ore
gon State Fair Board, and he
placed that institution at the head

place, instead of D. P. Correri, who
suffered the big loss by frost last

few years ago to accept a clerkship
with the customs houe at .Yaldrz,
Alaska, has Wen promoted to a

of Juneau, where he pets a salary of

His Honor T. A McBride is
commencing his tourtn term as
district judge, he having no op
position at the last election, for
manv years the Judge was district
attorney of the fifth judicial dis
trict, snd he hss been faithful to
every honor bestowed upon him.
He has the largest district and the

Altolace, the three year old for
merlv owned' by E. J. Lyons,
and now owned by J E Reeves, of
Cornelius, has been rn'ered in the

and the young fellow is expected to

famous stallion of a few years ago

his friends hope to see him make
