NOTHING BCT A BLUFF.
The congressional elections give
the opposition a gain in the House,
and the republicans still retain
power, although their majority is
somewhat reduced. The republi-
1 can loss is not much, take it all in
all, but when one stops to consider
that the president and all his cabi
net were out to get votes to sustain
the administration; when one stops
i to think that the ending of the
strike (just as was done two years
. ago), came just before the election;
when ona stops to consider that the
; people were told that the adminis
tration was to proceed against the
trusts by tariff revision, the repub
lican victory is not particularly
brilliant. It his been freely pre-
aiciea max me xaiK 01 trin revis
ion, prior the election, was all a
bluff, and, since the election has
resulted in a republican house of
representa'ives, we find the big
- lights in the party coming out and
Bt itmg that there will be no tariff
' revision. So, it seems, all the talk
of tariff revision and the control of
trusts was pure buncombe. And,
as a matter of fact, nothing will be
done as to tariff on trust-made or
any other kind of goods. There is
too much money in trusts; and to
many bankers own . truBt stock of
all kinds, to expect a change. Just
. so long as the peop'e select the
ideas put forward by the Morgans

shall have a government for the
trusts. It will soon be all one
-tru-t anyway, managed by two or
three directors, being not far from
. that at present for Morgan man'

the coal strike; is at the head of

Not, however, the only pianos; there are some twenty Uvn

Further, we rail pianos cheaper and on better terms
than sny other house in the Northwest, because, having
these four houses that we have built up by industry and

therefore, receive concessions that houses doing a smaller
