E. K. Gregory, attorney, who for
a year lias had office in the Cor-win-Woostcr
Block, died Monday,
Jan. 15, at the residence of F. I
Morgan, in this city. Gregory had
been ill for shout two months, his
malady being heart trouble. He
bad lieen confined to his room for
several weeks, but Saturday look a
ride to Keedville. 'He returned
that evening, snd feeling worre,
Mr. Morgan invited him 'to go to
his home lor a fortnight. Sunday
evening, be went, and was taken
worse. Dr. F. J. Bailey, who bad
been treating him, and who bad
told Gregory that be might pace
away at any hour, was called, and
gaye the man relief but alwut 4:30
in the morning he passed away.
He is a native of St. John, New
BruiiKwiuk and wa at one time
connected with the legal depart

brother on Puget Sound. His fami
ly residea in Sew Brunswick. He
was unmarried and was about 45
years of age. He first came prom

District.
The county board was in session
the first of the week, and the Srnt
business transude! was to make a
few precinct changes and then es
tablish each precinct into a road
district. This makes but twenty
one road district instead of 57, as
formerly. The supervisors are
appointed by the board for the last
time as each precinct, will hereafter
commencing with next June, elect
its own supervisor. This ia a good
idea, as it will stop political com
plaint and the road supervisor bus
iness can not be used to satisfy
political henchmen not intimat
ing, of course, that the present two
republicans on the board would
take orders from any political boss,
as we know, certainly, that Wash
ington county "haint got none of
