TUuwduy ol each mouth at S p. m complaint herein It led, to-w it: 1'ir a ue cree dissolving the bonds of matrimony ht-ietofore existing between plaintiff and delendant, and for such other and furl her newer countries; with a national gold hearing iuteres', debt which annually tukis away our gold: with a moving population which deems ii butter to work for a wage than to till a puce of land; with a steady stream of pauper labor to these shores for years and years, is it any wonder that wages are low and money is scarce? Yet, where, except perhaps an isolated case, can you find a country or a nation with a greater degree of prosperity in all classes than exis's in this United States? Look where you will, go where you may, and if such a discovery will bring your discon tented mind happiness, then will you sorry ever be. A democrat who feels guilty at the criminations of narrow minded politicians, when with great presumption they state the depression just past is due to democ.ratio policy, is noteworthy of a franchise. Rant and cant, such us is manufactured by these fel lows who are trying to lead some one into a channel to secure their vote at some favored time, have no business in reasonable minds, and every man who has pride in his own citizenship, and that of his fellow man, should take the time to meet these accusations and show them up for their true value. BEAVERTON. The Quadrant land cases have been appealed to the United States Supreme court, but as it will take several years to obtain a decision from that august body, an effort will doubtless be ipade by Senator Mitchell to eet congress to pass a resolution requesting the court to give the cases speedy consideration. In lieu of the claim of the S. P. to these lands, many settlers who live in the Quadrant are rather loth to make extensive improvements and the development of that part of the public domain of Oregon is not being rapidly pushed. In jus tice to all, a speedy hearing should be given the government in this matter so that settlers may know where thev stand. The funeral of J DeLetts took place under the Masonic ritual on the 15th inst. from Beaverton hall. The number of people was entirely too large to be ac commodated in any of the churches. This is not right, but there are times when a newspaper should give thf news, fairly and impartirlly. When a man stands convicted, or, for that matter, charged with a crime which is contrary to statute and good or der, the public should" be advised and no one should feel bitter to . wards a paper which gives such in formation, when it is in the inter est of law, order, and social welfare. The weather in this latitude, for the past 60 days has never been ex celled considering the time of the year. Beautiful sunshiny days, nights which have a charm, being neither too warm nor too cool old Oregonians contend that nothing since pioneer davs has been equal to the Indian summer which has obtained in the Willamette Valley this fall of 1895.
