In honor of their wedding anni versary Mr. and Mrs R. B. Caswell will give a delightful bridge supper, which will be followed by bridge, Tuesday evening. Thomas Martin Fitzpatrick has arrived from New York city to spend the holidays with Mrs. Fitzpatrick at the 'home of her parents, Mr. and Mr. James T. Barron, i Mrs. Lusi Abelli, a charming vis Itor here, has been the inspiration for many affiirs. Mrs. Andrew Por ter gave a large dinner recently, and Friday afternoon Mrs. Abelli was honored at a smart bridge party given by Mrs. Bruce D. Stew art. Mrs. F. E. Moore complimented her with a bridge party last Satur day, which was followed by a buf fet supper and dancing. Mrs. Har vey Nicol Black was hostess for an attractive luncheon Tuesday, and Friday Mrs. Neagel P. Sealy was hostess at a luncheon. Mrs. Abelli will return to her home in San Francisco in February. The whole-hearted support of practically each and every one of the women's organizations in this city has been given to the Ameri can Legion show, to be held In the auditorium the evening of December 30, as will be evidenced by the patronesses. The big show will consist of two hours of . high-class vaudeville en tertainment, dancing and a carnival country fair in the basement. The Elks' minstrela are preparing a spe cial entertainment as part of the vaudeville. A feature number of the vaude ville programme will be a .new ver sion of a pageant of nations. Jose phine Dillon, who has thts act iri charge, has designed a special set of the new art type to serve as the background of an interesting re view. The carnival spirit of the new year will be carried out In the act instead of the dignified somber ness of the war time pageants and there will be gaiety, as well as beauty and color. Many nations will be represented Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Spain, Russia, Holland. Swe den, Norway, Netherlands, Switzer land, France, China, Africa and the United States. Miss Plllon recently came to Port land from New York city where she was sn the staff of the Metro Pic tures corporation, for whom she also worked in its production plant in Hollywood. The legion show found friendly assistance In her studio as Miss Dillon produced many shows with the soldiers during the war.
