Miss Louise Cameron and Miss Doris Lytle, Portland, Or., girls, are being extensively enter tained here during their visit to Honolulu. They were the honored guests at several teas and dinners given during tne past week. Society folk are keenly anticipat ing "A Night in Paris," which will be given by the American Legion New Tear's eve. A two-hour vaude ville act wil be presented, and there pill be a dance in the wings of the stage. A country fair will take place in the basement. An improvised altar of beautiful Christmas holly and Oregon grape formed a charming background for Miss Charlie Penton.'who was mar ried Wednesday evening to Dudley Randolph Clarke, at the home of her uncle and aunt, Dr. and Mrs. Hicks C. Fenton, on Willamette Heights, Dr. A. A. Morrison per formed the ceremony. Dr. Horace B. Fenton acted as best man- The wedding march was played by Miss Margaret Hawkins, accompanied on the violin by Miss Jrene Sullivan. Miss Marion Linn of Eugene sang "Thou Art Lovely as a Flower." pre ceding the ceremony The bride, who was given In mar riage by her uncle, wore an at tractive wedding robe of white crepe back satin with long graceful lines, draped on one side and adorned by a cluster of s-ilver grapes and an ornament of crystal. Hr flowers were a shower bouquet of Ophelia roses and gladioli. Miss Virginia Fenton and Miss Margaret Spencer, cousins of the i bride, were her attendants. Miss Fenton s costume was a smart model of blue crepe back Batin, worn with a silver wreath on her coiffure. She i carried a bouquet of Columbia roses. Miss Spencer wore a pretty frock of apricot georgette with a silver wreath on her head and carried Ophelia roses. A reception followed the cere mony. Receiving with the wedding party were Dr. and 'Mrs. HicksC. Fenton and Mrs. Charles Robert Fenton, mother of the bride. Pre siding m the dining room, which, was colorful with its decorations of yeliow chrysanthemums, were Mrs. Edgar B. Piper, Mrs. Robert K. Kel ler, Mrs. J. Guy istrohm. Mrs. Edward Cusick of Albany, Mrs. Robert Ix Ford, Mrs. Harry J. Carman, Mrs. Jerry E. Bronaugh and Mrs. Francis Sherman. They were assisted by a group of the younger set, including Miss Eeanor McClaine of Stlverton. Miss Genevieve Shaver, Miss Marcile Carlock, Miss Theodora Stoppenbach Mrs. Roland Lockwood, Miss Myrtle Smith, Miss Elizabeth Torrey, Mrs. Robert McMurray and Miss Mary Helen Spaulding. Mrs. Clarke is an attractive and popular young woman, and since the announcement of her engagement has been the inspiration for numer our affiLirs. Mr. Clarke is the son of Mrs. Lucy Baxter Von Zoll Clarke, and is a former Portlander. He is well known in business and social circles here, and is now in business in San Francisco. Honey-, man, Mrs. Wesley Ladd Kendall, who was the house guest of Miss Nancy Holt, has returned to her home in Worcester, Mass. During her visit here she was the motif for several affairs. mm Mr. and Mrs. Ralph W. Wilbur are motoring in California. Mr., and Mrs. Cameron Squires are enjoying a short stay in California. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thompson left Thursday for a motor trip to California. Mrs. Phil Metschan Sr. Is visiting in San Diego. Later she will be the guest of her son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs, Kenneth Clar Nell, in Phoenix, Ariz. . Dinner and sup per were served at their home, near Wilsonville. to 24 guests. Mr. and Mrs. Kruse were married at their present home on November 1897. They have two sons.
