returned with his daughter, Martha,
to Washington. Ward Ms "the call
of the north," and wants to go back.
Captain Gordon-Smith, captain of
cavalry in the Royal Serbian army, is
now connected with the Serbian lega
tion in Washington. He was origi
nally sent to Washington.
Mrs. Henry C. Wallace, wife of the
secretary of agriculture, and Mrs.
Edwin Denby, wife of the secretary
of the navy, recently attended a pri
vate showing at the chrysanthemum
show in the conservatories at the
department of agriculture.
Brigadier General William Mitchell,
assistant chief of the army air service
and one of the most dashing generals
in the army, took part, in the army
horse show recently in the Washing
ton monument grounds.
The fashion of riding bicycles
comes and goes, but Miss M. Kearns, (
employe in the interior department at ?
Washington, declares that she has
ridden hers for 25 years. f
