T Lincoln memorial is
to be dedicated at Wash-
ington May 30 in Poto
mac park, in ' memory of the
great emancipator, with befit
ting ceremonies. It is now
nearing completion. Carved in
a white marble panel on one of
the walls is his Gettysburg ad
dress. It is easily readable to
the passersby and will continue
to inspire as time goes on. An
other inside feature is the 175
ton statue of the martyr-president,
which will be unveiled on
Decoration day.
Mrs. David Sherer of Fort
Myer, Va., has solved the prob
lem of caring for her baby
while she is out shopping or
visiting. She simply places it
in a basket and carries it on
her arm. No trouble at all, she

stitute the mascot of the Penn
sylvania Military school base
ball club. They are of Lassie,
a descendant of Pete, famous
Airedale, belonging to J. H.
Tindle, son-in-law of the late
Senator Philander C. Knox.
