The many friends of Miss Mayme Helen Flynn have been sending note of sympathy this week. On Monday her father, P. H. Flynn, died after an Illness of several months. Mr. Flynn was well known several years ago as a railroad man and the family has a wide circle of friends. Mr. Flynn loft two daughters. Mrs. Raymond McCarthy of Pueblo, Colo., who was here a short time ago to visit her father, and Miss Mayme Helen Flynn, a local pianist. Sons of Mr. Flynn are John Randall Flynn of ' Walla Walla and J. J. Flynn of this city. A brother is Dr. M. A. Flynn and two sisters, the Misses Margaret and Anna Flynn, also survive. Mrs. James O. Pitt was hostess re cently at a dinner for Mrs. C. R. Zehntbauer of New York and Mrs. Frank Phllllppl. who has returned after an absence of two months. The committee of 100 of the Port land Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a dinner dance February 3. The affair will be formal. The com mittee, headed by William P.
