The holiday week will be opened
with the Chi Omega alumnae benefit
dance Monday night at the Hotel
Multnomah. Much interest is shown
in the event which will be given to
benefit the sorority's milk station for
under-nourished children of Ladd
school. Mrs. R. R. Giltner is chair
man of the reception committee and
Misses Esther Maegley, Lucile Shepherd-
and Louise Gray comprise the
general dance committee.

In Vancouver, Wash. The ceremony
was read by Rev. Mr. Grimes, and
little Janet Adams was ringbearer.
. Miss Ruth Johns of 'Salem sang an
attractive number before the cere
mony. The bride wore a simply made gown
of white satin made with court train.
Her tulle veil was held in place with
& rose point lace cap. She carried
roses, gardenias and orchids.
Miss Hanita Mayer and Miss Bertha
Masters of Portland assisted at the
wedding eupper which followed the
ceremony.
Lieutenant Sparks and his bride
have gone to southern California and
later will go to New Orleans to motor
up to Washington, D. C. They will
he at Fort Montgomery in February.
An enjoyable event of Christmas
day was the annual dinner party for
which Mrs. C E. S. Wood was hostess.
Miss Elisabeth Huber and her
rather, Oskar Huber, entertained the
members of their family at dinner
yesterday.
Mrs. T. B. Wilcox has returned to
Portland after a short stay in San
Diego, Cal., where she was called by
the Illness of her sister. Miss Clara
Stevens.

A Christmas reception was held by
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Henry at their
home yesterday. They also enter
tained with a family dinner.

Una of the eujoyable affairs of yes
terday was the breakfast for which
Mr. and Mrs. S. K. Wilson were hosts.

Mr. and Mrs: James C Zan gave
a dancing party last night fof a half
hundred friends. The dance Is an
annual affair at the Zan home.
Mrs. William D. Wheelwright will be
hostess for a tea Tuesday afternoon
honoring Oregon Agricultural College
chapter, of Chi Omega. Alumnae and
friends of the active- members have
been included la the affair.
-An attractive programme has been
arranged for the Reed college Alum
nae banquet next Wednesday night
at the Hotel Benson. Associate alum
nae have been included in the invi
tation to the affair, which promise
to be one' of the interesting holiday
dinners.
- Mrs. Frederick Kiehle, who returned
recently from an extended eastern
trip. Is being entertained and wel
comed by her many friends. A recent
affair for her was a luncheon at
