Golfers Are Disappointed.
The news will be received with
keen disappointment in Portland and
all over the Pacific coast. It had
been accepted as almost a foregone

the United States.
John Dreher of Seattle, secretary
of the Pacific Northwest Golf asso

Mr. Dreher said last night that sev
eral Pacific northwestern clubs would
have clubbed together to bring the
Britishers to this section had they
been able to make the trip.
1021 Tourntj In Doubt.
According to Secretary Dreher no
decision has yet been reached as to
whether next year's northwest golf
championships will be held in Port
land or in Victoria. The Colwood
Country club of Victoria put in a
bid at Spokane in 1919, but apparent.

CRAIG TO COACH ABERDEEN
Mentor Who Put .Out Good Team
Last Year Will Stay.
ABERDEEN. "Wash.. Aug. .21. 'Spe
cial.) Aberdeen high school athletes
will have with them again this year
Coach Harry Craig, who last year
turned out a football eleven which
suffered but one defeat and that at
the hands of the Everett team, con
ceded the fastest high school aggre
gation in the state.
Though many of the players that
made up the Aberdeen offensive and
defensive lines last year will not be
in school, Craig believes that there
will be sufficient good new ma
terial to ensure a formidable team.
Tow Score Recorded.
A score of 51 over an 18-hole golf
course of championship caliber, the
par of which is 76 and the bogey SO,
was the record of W. D. Kraft sev
eral weeks ago at Hongkong. Kraft,
for some years an American colonist
j in Hongkong, was out in 2G and back
in 26, and his entire play was an ex
traordinary exhibition of accuracy.
Hi took one putt on each of 17 greens
and none on the other, the 12th hole,
which he negotiated in one. Despite
his age! 5S Kraft was forced to use
three balls on the round, since two of
them were knocked lop-sided, by the
power of. his drives.
