Wood carried Yamhill county by nearly 600 votes, according to com plete returns from the 39 precincts. Totals are: Wood 1439. Hoover 606, Johnson 842, Lowden 561. The majority for Chamberlain is overwhelming. although the total vote has not been completed it is in dicated Chamberlain will lead Stark weather by four to one. Although on some measures the vote was close. It is indicated that every state measure has carried. Stanfield Is leading by two to one Kozer is the choice for secretary ot state and Butchel for public service commissioner. For delegates at large McCammant and Butler are in the lead. NORTH BEND, Or., May 22. (Spe cial.) Complete returns from the five precincts in the city gave Johnson a heavy majority over other presiden tial candidates. The state elementary school fund tax measure, the higher educational tax act and the state road 4 per cent limitation measure received strong majorities. The other state measures -were indorsed except the act restoring capital punishment, which was defeated by a substantial majority. Dr. Phil J. Keizer, repub lican candidate for coroner of ' this city, polled probably the greatest number of votes of any candidate in the city. - A. H. Derbyshire, republican candi date for county prosecuting attorney, received a majority here, which was cut down in other parts of the county, and the election of Fisher is conceded. Robert Banks and Peter Loggie are believed to be the successful candi dates for port commissioners from this city. Less than 35 per cent of the registered vote here was cast.
