TJNIVERSITT OF OREGON, Eugene,
May 15. -(Special.) The Oregon Ag
ricultural college rooks were the win
ners in the track meet staged here
today, registering a 66-to-56 ecore
over the University of Oregon fresh
men. 'The Oregon team was handicapped
because of the inability of Arthur
Tuck to enter in but three events, be
cause of a bad knee. In the three
events entered by Tuck, he placed
first in each, making a total of 15
points, and making him high point
man for the meet.
Other high point men were Drapex
9.,Swarthout 8, Jennings 8. McKenna
7. all of the Aggies, and Greer 6 of
the Oregon frosh. The Aggies took all
three places in the low hurdles, the
last event of the meet, winning the
meet. They forfeited the relay to
Oregon.
The Oregon team took all three
places in the pole vault, Walters clear-.
iHg the bar at 11 feet for first place.
Collins won the 440 for the frosh in
;S0 2-5.. Hollinger of the Aggies ran a
pretty race in the 880, winning from
I'eltier by a few feet. His time was
2 minutes 1 U-5 seconds. Tuck won
the javelin event with one throw of
178 feet. He also had little trouble
winning the discus at 1-8 feet 30
inches, and the shotput at 40 feet lO1
inches.

Cancellation of Meet by Willamette
Blow to Reed.
Reed college track men were dis
appointed yesterday to learn that the
Willamette meet for independent col
leges has been canceled for lack of
funds. The Reed men were eager to
participate in the meet.
In the meantime tennis has received
large number of devotees and class
play will start tomorrow. Baseball
died a natural death after one game
between the dormitory and day-
dodger crews, which resulted in a
top-heavy score for the campus dwell
ers after four innings.

the right-field stand with Bodie on
base in the eighth, bringing in the

had stood at 6 feet 2 inches since
R. C. Merwin of Yale won the event
in the meeting of 1897.

The Jefferson high school won the
Marlon county track and field meet
here today over Silverton, the only
olher team competing, by a Beore of
49 to 31 points. The work of Dela
pux, captain of the Jefferson squad,
featured the meet. lie captured 27
points for his team, winning the 100
yard dash, the 60 and 440; tieing for
first in the pole vault and high jump,
und taking second in the broad jump
and third in the shot-put. His time
in the 440 run was the best record,
coming close to the college class.
Hammond, of Silverton. threw the
12-pound shot 37 feet, while his team
mate, Bennett, broad-jumped 19 feet.

A fast bill of boxingr and wrestling
will be produced by the Multnomah
club next Thursday niprht in the club
grymnasium. Two feature wrestling
bouts and five boxing bouts will
make up the card.
One of the headline events of the
evening: will be the wrestling bout
between George Hansen and Carl
Freilinuer, both members of Multno
mah club. These two boys have met
several times, but neither has been
able to pain any decided advantage.
Another bout that is creating a lot
of interest is the match between
Virgil Hamlin, 130-pound wrestler,
and Keed of Franklin high school.
Keed recently got the decision over
Hamlin, but the latter promises to
turn the tables.
The loxing bouts will be made up
between corns of the fast boys under
the tutelage of Eddie O'Connel and
boxers from the University of Oregon
and Oregon Agricultural college. ,

ALBANY, Or., May 15. (Special.)
The Columbia university baseball
team of Portland was defeated by
Albany high school 2 to 1 in a fast
game here this afternoon. Eaci of
the pitchers allowed three hits, Al
bany winning on superior fielding.
Albany scored in the first Inning
when Haller reached first on a
fielders' choice and madje the circuit
on Butcher's two-bagger. In the
sixth inning Beamis reached first on
an error, was sacrificed to second and
scored on Wilkinson's hit.
Schaeker circled the bases for Co
lumbia's only score when his hit to

in both singles and doubles. Davies
won the singles championship and
combined with Neer in taking the
