NATATORl CM PROVES POPULAR
Bay Ocean Activities Many and
Oireatly Enjoyed.

The natatorium is becoming very
popular. The clean, warm ocean water
is almost irresistible to the visitors.
Many parties from across the bay Join
the Bayoccan vacationists for a nightly
swim Professor Harvey Is an excel
lent instructor. Judging by the aquatic
performances of his pupils the art of
swimming is a real diversion.
The lighting has been put in good
order. With well-lighted paved streets
many derive pleasure in long evening
walks.
A large and successful dancing party
was given at Hotel Bayocean on Mon
day evening, when the officers of the
life-saving station at Bar View ar
rived with several boat loads of thelir
friends. Earl Fuller's jazz band fur
nished delightful music. Many Bay
ocean visitors participated in the danc
ing and a delightful supper was served
by the popular hostess of Hotel Bay
ocean. Bungalow court has acquired quite a

cial.) A merry party of Portlanders
composed of the P. W. Hawkinson,
H. D. Tilton. C. H. Weston families,
Mrs. Arthur Knouff and Miss LaRoche,
made an excursion, Wednesday, to the
Cedars, a beautiful grove near Watseeo.
In derision of the warning that they
might see a bear, Mr. Hawkinson and
Mr. Tilton were poking industriously
in all places suggestive of a den. when
the discovery by Mrs. Weston, of a
lively young cub, with Imminent proba
bility of more intimate acquaintance
with the ubiquitous mother-bear,
dampened the enthusiasm of the bear-
baiters to a surprising degree.
At the Seguian cottage for a fort
night's vacation are Mr. and Mrs. Nor
man C. Taylor and daughter, Ruth, and
Mrs. Carrie Bates of Portland.
J. B. Middleton of Portland spent
the week-end with his family at the

increase in the travel here during the
past few days both by ral: and auto.
The place is fairly swarming with cars
