St. Louis National Baseball Club
Fact's Heavy Obligations.
The affairs of the St. Louis National
- league club will come to a head in
February, according to Ed Ray. the Ht.
Louis baseball critic. Subscribers to
the ItiO.OOO or more raised to tide the
Cardinals over their recent difficulties
have received circulars announcing the
issue of the econd deed of the trust,
or the equivalent thereto, for $75,000,
dated July 15, and payable with inter'
est January IE, 1919, covering their
assessment. In addition the proviso Is I
attached that 115.000 more, to enable
the club to stagger through the Winter,
will be Issued.
This mean that in addition to the
1125,000 still due Mrs. Brltton, the club
will have to settle a second indebted
ness of about 30.000, with interest.
This falls due in midwinter, and un
