The Secret of its Operating Economy
TPS not from any one feature, but due to the whole chassis that Kissel
owners report unusually low maintenance and repair expense.
Kissel economy of operation is BUILT-IN from the start, by first making
a perfectly balanced chassis giving long life, slow depreciation, and the
utmost in tire service. .
Its simplicity and strength reduces replacement and repairs to thel
minimum.
Extra large high-grade bushings at every frictional point minimize wear.
And so it goves every part designed, constructed and lubricated mostly by oil instead of gTease,
to do their work easily and without friction. .
Its Hundred Quality Features are worth your investigation before buying. Why not today?-

rraaslng need ror much greater

States solid truck tires, which have
bad such Tnuge sales that the output
has mora than doubled In quantity In
tha paat two years, la the reason given
by tha United States Rubber Company
for lta recent purchase of tha large
manufacturing plant of the American
Locomotive Company at Providence,
R. I.
Tha property immediately adjoins
tha Revere plant of tha United States
Rubber Company, where tba company
haa concentrated ita solid tiro activi
ties. Tha new plant will bo part or
tha Revere unit, which thus becomes a
dominant factor in ths country (or ths
manufacture of aolid truck tires. The
enlarged organisation of tha unit will
remain under tha direction of H. w
Watte, the factory manager of the Re
vere plant, whose successful adminis
tration in his present position Is thus
recognised. In addition to manurac
taring bo lid truck tires the factory
will give considerable apace to tha de
velopment of its business In pneumatic
cord tires for commercial vehicles.

"The enforced use of auto trucks In

cording to a recent attement by J. N.

Tiro Company, "will give business men
such a taste of tha satisfactory results
to be obtained by the one of these
trucks that I see nothing but a tremen
dous business In prospect for our truck
Ure manufacturing' departments."
In centering its truck tire production
In Providence the United States Tire
Company bellevea It haa adopted a wise
bit of business strategem, for aa yet
the heaviest truck sales are on the At
lantio seaboard. Providence is admir
ably situated as a distributing point
for this territory and offers excellent
transportation facilities, especially by
water routes. For its output of tires
for passenger cars the company centers
its efforts at Detroit, the greatest car
producing city in tha Nation, and at
Indianapolis, with a large Eastern fac
tory at Hartford.

Kngland. It Is In the heart of the
city's industrial district and has such
well-known neighbors as ths Nichol
son File Company and Browne & Sharp.
Tha buildings are in excellent condi
tion and ready for immediate use.
Colonel Samuel P. oolt. president of
the United States Rubber Company,
lives in Rhode Island and is receiving
congratulations from his fellow cltl
sens for having landed for Rhode
Island a business enterprise which,
when in full operation, will add at least
J000 employee to the payrolls of the
Revere plant. j
Although the United States Rubber
Company has authorised no statement
as to when it expects to begin opera
tions In the new buildings, it is under
stood that it desires at the earliest pos
sible moment to make use of tha in
creased facilities In order as soon as I
possible to render greater aid to the

HARROTJX FREE FROM CARBON I
Deposits Obviated by Smooth Com
bustion Chambers, Says Dealer.
"Since the application of the oxygen
flame to the removal of carbon from
automobile cylinders that once dreaded
deposit has lost much of its terror to
the motorist. Tet oxygen gas and
labor spent In this application cost
money, points out J. 8. Moltsner. Har-
roun distributor here, "and the opera- I
tlon takes considerable time, during
which the car must he out of service.
"But even tha present difficulty is
lessened by the latest feature of motor
manufacture, adds Mr. Moltmer.
"It is a well-known fact that oarbon
forms most rapidly on a rough surface.
Plainly the most available remedy was
to create a combustion chamber which
would be smooth and would discourage
carbon deposits.
"That ia Just what Ray Harroun has
done In the design of the Harroun car.
"To do ao it was necessary to design
a cylinder head which could be reached
by the tool used for machining Its in
terior. With this feature accomplished
the rest haa been easy, and the result
Is a degree of freedom from carbon I
deposit, which in tha former days was
not even to be hoped for.

QYEZ1 OYEZ! OYEZ1 Hear the Verdict of the Test Car Jury.
"Secure sure tire service in Tested Tires. They give sure service because
it is proven service. Their endurance and durability have been proved
in the one way to assure mileage to the motorists, under the car on the
road, every type of road, throughout 4,178,744 tire miles."
That is the verdict of the jury of Goodrich's forty Test Cars, which,
for a year have hammered Goodrich Tires from region to region, putting
the road test to them. Every kind of road, every kind of climate, every
kind of weather shared in that verdict.
"These tires defeated us" the roads testified. On such testimony the
verdict of the Test Car proclaims, "Matchless in strength and dependa
bility are Goodrich Tested Tires." Here is certainty ot service
for the tire user, because it is proven service.
SILVERTOWN CORDS and BLACK SAFETY TREADS
have proved themselves in actual road tests under light and
heavy cars, conquerors of the road. Hearken to this verdict
from the roads, and make sure of your tirs service in the tires
that won the title "Canada's Tested Tires."
