NSPIRED beyond a doubt by the military costumes on every
hand even though military capes are seen less frequently
than the more severe topcoats these capes are charmingly fem
inine in every way.
Some are straight and severe, entirely without trimming.
Some have novel collars that are shined and turned and button
trimmed, and many have the gayest of linings to contradict the severely
sober aspect of the plain tailored blue serge.
Besides the serge capes, which are straight or draped or looped,
there are dashing capes of black velvet, bound with military braid and
confined at the waistline by a narrow belt

SKIRTS
There's seemingly no end to the
variety of separate ikirts this season,
with one more effective than another.
Some that have just been unpacked
are of novelty pussywillow silk, in fas
cinating black and white striped and
brick-checked designs. Crepe de chine
of sky blue has been combined with
white silk in woven block designs to
good effect, and striped and pld skirts
are shown in infinite variety. White crepe
de chine skirts are rucked and pleated
and white flannel and serge skirts are
full gathered and pleated with novel
belts and pockets and white silk and
wash satin skirts are lovelier than ever
before.
